one way masculinity is defined is by how a man might handle his household. Also another way is how a Igbo man might hit and beat on his wife. We like to show masculinity by how we can hold a good threshold on self control but also keep him and whoever is important to them safe and ok. I think masculinity to me is how a man can provide and care for the ones that are loved. To me personally, masculinity is something you have to earn in life. Men to me earn their masculinity by proving them selves as a worthy father to their children, and loyal and protecting husband to their wife.

my first impression on this novel is it showed a very different representation and view of african native cultures, the way they live and act amongst each other. my opinion to the Igbo culture is they have very different traditions and religions but they are similar in alot of ways. There are many different ways that they live from us for example on thing about females in Igbo culture more than often women walk around without there breast covered and do not have alot of privacy/personal space like out modern life does. Also another very different religion Igbo practiced was twin killing were if a set of twin babys were born they are taken to the forest and sacrificed to rid of all evil.
